One side of the 2 Hakuoki posters that I bought. *sigh* so handsome! |
I went to Fanimecon 2015 with my friend last Saturday.
We had planned out a schedule for the day, but we ended up not following it once we got there. This seems to happen when the two of us go to cons together...I think it's still nice to make a plan even if we don't follow it.
My friend wore her Shingeki no Kyojin cosplay again. She cosplayed as Mikasa this year and the year before at Fanimecon. She's had some difficulties with the belts and I think she's kind of tired of her cosplay now...I must admit that the belts look really difficult to deal with and make it look right. I didn't cosplay, but my friend offered to lend me one of her other cosplays for the day. I wanted to be comfy so I just wore my favorite school sweatshirt, cargo pants, my favorite hat, and comfy blue athletic shoes. Plus, I emptied out my school backpack for the day to use to hold all of my goodies.
When we got there, we entered the line for registration. For my badge this year, I got the cute fox mascot! This was similar to last year because last year, I got the cute penguin mascot. Hehehe~ My friend ended up getting the girl mascot for her badge. This happened last year, too. She was disappointed because she really wanted to get the guy mascot this year. Oh well...
Next, we went to the Farimont hotel to watch a cosplay panel with Madoka Magica's characters. My friend and I have both watched the anime and we enjoyed it, so I suggested we go check out this panel. When we got there, it was relatively empty and it seemed like people weren't really enjoying it. The people who seemed to be enjoying it were the people who got to ask questions to the cosplayers and the cosplayers themselves. I thought the panel was okay, but the people cosplaying the characters were talking kind of quietly. I couldn't really hear much in there. My friend looked kind of bored, too, so I asked if she wanted to just go to the Dealer's Hall. We left and we went on our way back to the convention center.
We lost our way and we had to consult my friend's phone for directions. We saw cosplayers and kind of just followed them until we reached the convention center again.
Finally back in the convention center, tired from walking, and sweaty from the sun, my friend and I had our lunch break. We ate chicken empanadas that her mom made (her family has a delicious Argentinian restaurant!) and drank water. I ate some honey nut cheerios that my mom packed me earlier. Thanks for the lunch, mama and my friend's mama!
Then, we decided to head to the Dealer's Hall. The Dealer's Hall is always my favorite part of cons because I don't get to buy anime merch that often. We went to the entrance but were told to fall in line. We didn't even realize that there was a line! The past few years that we've gone to Fanimecon, there was never a line to enter the Dealer's Hall. So we found the long line and waited to reach the entrance. While in line, I encountered a masked person in green. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was actually a senpai of mine at school! He told me it was him at the con a week later...Man, I knew that voice sounded familiar!
We eventually reached the Dealer's Hall and it felt like heaven...I love seeing all of that anime merch in one place! :) My friend and I spent HOURS in here. We spent the rest of our day in this room.
The two of us wanted to go into the Artist Alley, too, so we left the Dealer's Hall and tried to find the line for the Artist Alley. We went into a line thinking it was for the Artist Alley, but it just led us back to the Dealer's Hall. Honestly, we didn't realize it was for the Dealer's Hall. There we were again...in the Dealer's Hall!
In the Dealer's Hall, I bought lots of stuff and of course, spent lots of money. I had saved up for a while and was really excited to buy stuff. So here's what I bought:
- 8 volumes of manga (Kamisama Kiss vol. 15, Tegami Bachi vol. 14, 15, 16; Sumomomo Momomo vol. 5, Dengeki Daisy vol. 5, and Love*Com vol. 11, 12); I got 2 free Bleach posters from the vendor that I got the manga from :)
- 2 small Hakuoki posters (now I have 4...man, I just love the art in this series!! there's so much beautiful boys in here...)
- 1 small laminated Psycho Pass poster (Kogami and Makishima!! Ugh, they're sooo handsome!! I can't get over how sizzlin' they are, seriously.)
- 3 Haikyuu!! charms (2 for my older sis who loves this series: Sugamama and Kuroo; 1 for me, I also like Haikyuu!! but my sis is probably more obsessed: Aone (with bear accessories...aww!! so cute...)
- 1 Psycho Pass postcard for my friend who also likes Psycho Pass (I wrote a message on the back for her and I also gave her my extra Bleach poster; it was worth it because she loved them and she gave me a hug! :3)
- a small pink alpaca for my sis (she loved it~)
- a squeaking small yellow duck (I LOVE THIS. oh ma gee. D: it's really cute and I love how it squeaks)
We rode the train back home. We got free Taco Bell coupons from our school so we both went to Taco Bell and got a Nacho Cheese flavored Doritos Locos taco for ourselves. Mmmmm...it was really tasty!
We went our separate ways and I walked home. On the way home, I bought some calamansi juice at a store and saw a male duck outside. He had beautiful feathers.
I got home around 7 PM or so. My parents texted me a lot. They were really relieved when I finally got home.
It's Aone! Isn't he cute? :) |
More luscious Hakuoki posters. Isn't Saitou just so dreamy? Ah... |
Here's the manga that I bought. They're on my bookshelf in front of the rest of my manga. |
This is the free Bleach poster that I got. It's now on one of my mirrors. |
This is the very cute duck that I bought! It's in front of my freshman geometry project. Hehehe~ |
